foodbank ** SHOPPING LIST of suitable items to donate. **
A foodbank gives nutritionally balanced food and support to people experiencing emotional or financial crisis. Communities across the UK are mobilising to meet the needs of their neighbours by setting up a foodbank in their own town. The Northern Devon foodbank covers an area of 800 square miles, making it the biggest area for any foodbank in the country.
The foodbank provides emergency food to people and families in crisis throughout North Devon. Access is by vouchers issued by frontline agencies such as Children's Centres, Health Visitors, Care workers, CAB, Job Centres, etc. Each food voucher is exchanged for at least 3 days supply of food for the number of people shown on the voucher. Donations of food for the foodbank can also be left at the distribution centres.
The South Molton distribution centre is located at the YMCA Centre in Mill Street. The centre is open on Thursdays between 10.00am-12.30pm to accept vouchers and receive donations. Tel: 07422 651253
